Zoe Birkett Workshop! Pop Idol And West End Star Works With PSSA Chiswick!
As an end of half term treat, last week saw Zoe Birkett putting Chiswick
students through their paces as
Zoe Birkett came in to teach a WEst End Workshop. Zoe was the female
winner of the original Pop Idol in 2002, and after winning the
heart of the nation... and Simon Cowell, Zoe has been very busy performing
in West End shows such as Thriller Live, Priscilla
Queen of the Desert and Respect la Diva.
Students got a real taste of life as an X Factor contestant as well as a
Musical Theatre performer as Zoe described her experiences and
explained an average week in her crazy life! Immediately after the
workshop, Zoe was flying out to Egypt for her fortnightly performances of
West End Rocks!
During the workshop the students were taken through Zoe's usual pre-show
vocal warm up before learning the lyrics, harmonies and movements to 'I
want you Back',
the Jackson 5 classic that Zoe had performed in Thriller Live.
It was a great, high energy workshop and the students had a great time
experiencing Zoe's world and learning a routine direct from the West End.
