Rob

Rob was a late starter to dance and only began taking his first lessons at the age of 17. Within a few short months he had decided that this was the path he wanted his life to take and auditioned at 'Bodywork Company Dance Studios' in Cambridge where he was awarded the prestigious 'Trusties Scholarship' for his time at the college.

During his four successful years, he appeared in a variety of shows, including '42nd Street', in the role of 'Bert Barry', 'West Side Story', in the role of both 'Doc' and 'Officer Krupke'. He also appeared alongside Kym Ryder and Jonathan Wilkes in the acclaimed production of 'Mother Goose' at The Regent Theatre in his hometown of Stoke on Trent, and also at The Kings Theatre in Glasgow alongside Elaine C Smith.

Upon leaving college with a distinction in his diploma in Dance and Theatre Arts Rob landed a dream 6 month Caribbean Cruise Dance contract with Ocean Village Liners. It was here when disaster struck and a broken 5th metatarsal meant that his return journey was a lot sooner than imagined! It was at this time in his life that Rob discover another passion of his, one to perhaps rival his love of performance, the joy of choreography and of teaching. In the summer of 2007 he became a jazz and drama teacher with Elaine Bird at her 'Stagecraft' performing arts school and then was privileged enough to be asked to become the head of Drama when the Stone branch of PSSA was opened. During this time he directed 'Little Shop of Horrors' and 'Fame'.

After these successful shows, a cruel twist of fate left an opening for the Head of Dance position at the school which Rob immediately jumped at, and has never looked back from since. With two highly well received shows ('Back to the 80's' and 'Hairspray') under his belt and a fantastically talented company with which to teach and inspire every week, Saturday mornings are no longer a struggle to jump out of bed for! For this he would like to thank his wonderful teachers and friends at the studios as well as Laura and Elaine for giving him a chance in the first place :) x

More recently Rob has appeared as a dancer in 'The Best Of ...' Cabaret shows which toured in various venues around the Midlands and is on the look out for new and exciting opportunities both in the worlds of performance and choreography!
